DrBill100, so given that the 80 hour time doesn't start until the BAC is 0, would a person fail an EtG test with a BAC above 0? For instance, they were to drink on a Friday night, the last drink at 2am (.16 BAC) then have an EtG test at 12pm the next day (Saturday) leaving their BAC slightly above 0. Would this person fail miserably or would they pass?

It is impossible for you to pass in that situation.

Since alcohol metabolism starts with the first drink, your ETG levels would start to grow shortly there after. If you think about it, it takes about an hour to two hours to metabolism one drink to zero BAC. The ETG will be in your urine for at least 48 hours plus, for the single drink. Now saturate your system and your ETG content in your urine will skyrocket.

There is no chance whatsoever to pass this test.

A question though, what do you stand to lose now that you're going to fail this? Why are you being tested? It is apparent that you are not allowed to drink, are you taking any steps to curb your drinking? Are you just trying to cheat the system?

It stands to reason that if the test checks for alcohol, well, having alcohol in your system will be an automatic failure.

Maybe a half a chance, if it was just an alcohol test, but an ETG test? Not a snowballs chance in the desert... sorry
