Hi there, I'm a 31 year old mum of 2 and trying to conceive num 3, I had sex on the 2nd of April, ovulated on the 5th then bleeding for 2 days on the 19th, I've been having a lot of familiar pregnancy symptoms but tested negative on the 22nd, is the any chance I could still be pregnant or is it wishfull thinking? Thanks

You know you ovulated on the 5th exactly how since all women do not ovulate on the same point in their cycle?

WHat changes would those be... speaking as someone who is over 50 and been married for 23.

Missed period is the first symptom... boobs don't start to change for 3-4 months, and you don't show for even longer.

When was your period due? You can't test for at least two weeks past that for a home pregnancy test to be reasonable accurate. And anything but that or a Blood test is guessing.

Of course you could be pregnant, and it's too soon to test. Of course you could also be not pregnant. I can't imagine why you are 'going out of your mind' over this, as you say elsewhere. Are you drinking, doing drugs? What's the anxiety about?

My periods are irregular so I wouldn't know when its due, also it's the 2 day bleed I'm confused about... Thank you

Hi thank you for your reply, yes I've been drinking more than usual recently due to weddings, parties and holidays

Women from time to time have an unusual bleed between periods... some more often than others.

As far as the stressing out... that alone can make your cycle even less regular than it was.

A safe rule of thumb. Assume a 28 days cycle (yes I know that's not true for everyone, I'm just establishing a timeline)... test when that's two weeks late... and test again a week after that if its negative. If you go two months without a period... then perhaps its time to see your gynecologist for a blood test.
