PVC Water Contamition?
I have a pvc pipe running from the softner to the canister filter and eventually making the transition to copper. This morning the pvc T joint on which there was a valve, blew off the T and water gushed out.
Once realized the problem, I shut the valve of the softner and went to the store to buy the purple primer and the cement. Now the T had still water. I soaked all of the water coming up top the vertical neck of the T but water was still in the horizontal part of the T.
I was careful not to spill the purple or the cement in the water but don't know how successful I was especially because I can't see what happened when I pushed the valve back in.
Am I risking water contamination from the cement?
Thank you.
