I am not suffering from menses as I had sex... do I get pregnant? How to avoid it ? How to check it? If I am really pregnant or not going through menses due to some other reason because I am still a virgin. May I go for a check up or any medicine??

If you are not having your menses as expected, and have had sex, then pregnancy could be a possibility. If you are able to purchase a home pregnancy test, you can take the test at home using your urine. When pregnant, a hormone associated with pregnancy, will show up in your urine and in your blood. If you are not able to purchase a home test, then you would need to see your doctor for a pregnancy test.

If the test shows that you are not pregnant, then talk to your doctor about ways to make pregnancy less likely to happen. The only way to completely prevent it would be to stop having sex. However, there are different forms of birth control that you or your partner may decide to use to lessen the chance of pregnancy.

If you had vaginal intercourse, you would not still be a virgin. If you have not had vaginal intercourse, and have not had any instance of a man's semen entering your vagina, then you could not become pregnant. In that situation, not having your menses would be from a different cause. Sometimes menses are just off....sometimes it will show up later than expected. I would suggest seeing your doctor to talk about your concerns.

If you had sexual intercourse, then you are no longer a virgin. If you have not had penetration then the possibility of pregnancy is very, very small.

There is no 100% certain way to avoid pregnancy except by not having intercourse. There are some methods of birth control that can provide protection of more than 90%. You should discuss these with your OB/Gyn.
