The hot water faucet to the washing machine in my condo is leaking. No one seems to know where the water cut off is located. Not other tenants, not the HOA, not us. Since we are selling the unit we need to repair the faucet. Any suggestions as to how to repair this? I assume it just needs a new washer but I can't shut the water off. If I close the intake valve to the hot water heater will that work? Guy at homedepot said there will still be bleed through. Help!

Shutting off at the HW heater should work.

Now that you know how to shut the water off to the tap let's address the problem.
Unscrew the bonnet packing nut and back the stem the washer assembly out counterclockwise. Before you install a new washer check to see with your fingernail. If the seat has nicks or rough spots the tap must be replaced as it will only tear up the new washer. Good luck, Tom
