I live in California and I'm majoring in Administration of justice at a two year college. I need to be at least 21 years old before I can apply for the program, I'm going to graduate from the college this year. The reason why I want to know if I can use a GPS or map is because I live in a large city. I was born in this city so I should know my way around the city, but my mother is very over protecting. She wouldn't allow me to ride public transportation vehicle until I turned 17 and she treats me, and my dad like we're children. I just received my drivers license this year and I know a few locations, but I haven't memorized all the street names. Will using a GPS or map make me look less qualified? Will it play a factor in getting a job?

Did you not know that a GPS is a major attachment to cars now? Everyone uses one, even if they know where they are going !

It has nothing to do with being qualified. No. Use whatever you have to do to avoid getting lost.

Being able to use a map (and a GPS is simply a high-tech map) is a good thing. I have known some people who can't seem to be able to read a map to save their lives. I wonder about their intelligence sometimes.
