I had my shower pan marble changed. Shower pan was in good condition as well as drain. Installer cut out drain cover and discarded. Now I cannot find one with those dimensions. 3 1/2 between screws and 4 5/8 total size of cover. I found a 41/2 one. But the whole screws do not match and there is no way to snap it. How can I attached it.

Since the "installer" cut it off the installer should really replace it for you, especially as he/she is in the trades and they should have more ready availability of parts. However, if that is not the direction you want to go on this then you should be dropping by a local plumbing supply store, a home improvement store and finally a good tile supply store. One of these specialty stores should be able to come up with a good match for your shower drain. You may have to purchase the entire drain assembly and then use only the cover, but at least the problem will be solved.

Another choice could be to have a friend drill some holes in the cover that you have...drill holes where they are needed, bevel the holes to accept a screw so it is flush when set and that would also work in most cases...;)

Back to you...

Keep looking. I am sure you will find the size that fits. There are companies that make universal fit snap-in covers. If it is an unusual size, look in small hardware stores.

On a side note, the installer should have never remove the old cover. In fact, he should have replace the upper portion of the drain and install new one. At least, that's what we do every time we work on shower pans.

Hope that helps... Back to you / Milo

THANK YOU. I will follow your advice I am sure it will be good. I just found a 4.25 drain screw in cover. I will have the holes re hole.
