Right now I'm 17 years old and I'm currently studying high school for the first year.
Recently for some reason I always need to take deep breaths, in class, at home etc. Also at the same time I tend to sleep earlier than usual (10pm to 6:30 am for school days) and it makes me more tired than before, and sometimes in class I get dizzy, but never experience blackouts. Sometimes even when I need to take a deep breath, it feels uncomfortable.
Despite having these problems, it did little to affect my grades, but it does make me worry whether this is normal for high school students to face or not, and whether I should tell my parents about this situation, since it first happened.
I'm not exactly sure why I constantly need to take deep breaths but I did think of some factors, for example I started to have this habit of drinking coffee each day, and I agree that it seems early for high school students to drink coffee, can this sudden change of diet relate to me having this issue?
Or rather it was stress given from my first year of high school which caused it? I'm now taking psychology, chemistry and visual arts and my grades are just average, far worse than my last year of middle school.
Or was it because my long term sleep deprivation which caused it, this is my first year when I pulled an all nighter in an attempt to complete a certain project. Another possibility, could my sudden change of sleep pattern relate to it?
It would be grateful for me to know the following: why I would have this constant need for deep breaths? Whether this is serious or not? And what is the best method to help reducing it or recover from it? Thx
