View Full Version : Why do my morning glory flowers only bloom for one day?

I am growing two morning glory vines. The one with flowers always blooms one flower at at time, and each only blooms for one day. After this day they dry up and turn brownish. Is this normal for morning glories? Or could they have some kind of fungus or disorder in growth? Just curious because I intensely dislike seeing them leave so soon. They are called an "Old Glory Mix" and they come in red, white and mid blue/purple. Thanks for any help, TheNatureGirl

That is very typical of Morning Glories. Part of their genetic makeup.

They are prolific seeders. However, you may only get the light blue variety with seeds you collect.

My morning glory plant that has flowers has never grown two flowers at once. Though I think a seed pod is developing. It couldn't have pollinated with another flower. Did it pollinate itself? Or will it release infertile seeds? Then again is am just assuming that it's a pod. Any help would be greatly appreciated. https://www.askmehelpdesk.com/webkit-fake-url://C901ED55-9DA7-4260-96F7-52E79A72FA1A/imagejpeg
