I have taken multiple pregnancy tests and all of them are negative. I am one day late for my period. I have had cramps for about one week and I'm more tired than normal. When should I retest and is there a chance I could still be pregnant?

1 day late is pretty meaningless. Unprotected sex?

WHY exactly have you taken MULTIPLE tests when you are only one day late? Got money to waste? Let me guess... you are 16 or something close? ALL women have been late at least a few days before they are 30, some have been a week or more late... even when they have been celibate. You should wait until your are 14 days late before you test. When you do it... it MUST be right after you wake up... the FIRST time you pee that morning... or you have to wait until the next day.

One day, is not even really late. As noted, you should not even be testing, till you are at least 14 days late. (and even then, tests are not 100 percent)

So just relax, wait 2 weeks. If no period, then test.

Many women do not get a reliable test until their second trimester. Testing at one day late is useless. It's very rare to get a reliable test that early.

Wait until your period is at least 2 weeks late. Test using first morning urine. If that test is negative, wait for your next period, and if you miss it, test again, with first morning urine, or get a blood test done.

Testing this soon is a waste of money, and a cause of stress when it isn't needed. A negative this early, means nothing.

Thank you everybody. I've never been late so that's why I am nervous. I have a 4 1/2 year old but he came as a surprise and I don't remember how far along I was when I tested positive with him. Smoothy, no I am not near 16 and if you're going to be rude I don't need your input. Yes I did have unprotected sex with my husband immediately after my last period so I didn't think it was near my ovulation day. I know sperm can live up for 5 days. In one week I will retest and hopefully have an answer then.

I would wait 2 weeks, not one. That really is the best time to test. Also, make very sure to use the first pee of the day. It's more concentrated and therefore will give you a better chance at a reliable result. I know it's hard not to test every day, especially if you're trying to conceive. We all want to know right away, and it isn't easy to wait.

For now, treat yourself like you're pregnant. No alcohol, no smoking, get plenty of rest and eat healthy. Also, you can start taking prenatal vitamins. If you aren't pregnant they won't hurt you, but if you are they can make all the difference for a healthy baby.

Let us know how it goes.

Good luck. :)

Thank you, and I will. If I'm not id just like to know why I'm so thrown off and feel nauseas all the time now. And if I am. Well that would just be wonderful!

Do remember that women can miss a period for many other reasons. The nausea could be because of illness, and illness can mess up your period. So can stress, weight gain, weight loss, medication, exercise, and many other things.

But like I said before, treat yourself as if you are pregnant right now. Test when you're two weeks late. If that test is negative, wait for your next period, and if you miss it, test again or get a blood test done.

Sending baby dust your way. :)
