The mower runs really rough on sloping or even bumpy ground

I thought about dirt in the carburetor and took the top off and cleaned the bowl out. There really wasn't anything in there but maybe I need to pull the needle out and inspect. Should have done it while I was there the first time.

Hi,
I think you to be correct in thinking it is the carb. It is most likely the fuel level height in the bowl as too high will cause it to splash into the venture.
Another strange thing might be an electrical problem of a bare wire bumping and shorting sporadically, though it should be considered a long shot.
Peace,
Clarke

I am thinking float issue also. Tell us what you mean when you say slope. Are you going up hill, down hill or crosswise. If crosswise does it run different if you turn around and go back to other direction?
