I have windshield wipers that have a problem. When I turn them on they go up half-way, and then they lock there. It sounds like the motor is working to keep pushing the windshield wipers up the windshield, but they just stay there. I have to push the windshield wipers down to get them back to the starting position. I am pretty handy, so my mechanical experience includes fixing the doors of jeeps that've had problems and I have also rebuilt 3 or 4 different carburetors. I am going to open up the compartment and see if something is blocking the wiper mechanism, but is this a problem anyone has heard before?

Sounds like the wiper motor is worn out.

Could be motor, gearbox, if this model uses one, or crank arm.
