Hi, I need your help!

I have a compressor with a Honda GX 390 13HP engine which I have replaced to a Briggs Stratton HP16 V-twin engine, because the perfomrance of the Honda engine is too less.but now it looks, that the B&S engine has less power then the Honda!? The pressure of the compressor is less then before and if I increase the pressure the speed of the engine slows down and even stop!

Why?

Honda engine: 390cc, 13 HP, 1-cylinder
B&S engine: 480cc, 16HP, 2 cylinder

Many thanks for your reply!

Regards,
Rob

Stick with the Honda if you want reliability. My experience with your second choice sucks. I've used Kowasaki engines with very good luck and am told Honda's are better.
Just what do you mean by to less on the Honda? The mfg'r usually has these components matched pretty well.
Are you pushing it to hard by using too much air ? If so add a second pressure tank in-line to get more volume. Sounds as though your compressor is to small for the job maybe.
