Could anxiety cause my lips to turn blue? I've been experiencing anxiety for the past month or so but within the past 2 weeks its been continuous. To the point I can't even function or go about my daily life. I've had 5 severe panic attacks in the past month. Yesterday I noticed my lips have a blue tint. Almost as if you can see blue veins throughout them. Could this be due to anxiety?

I also am an I.v. heroin user and my anxiety symptoms seem to get worse after injecting. Just thought I'd throw that in there.

I've had blood work which was good except my white blood cell count was a little low. I've had an EKG and an echo to make sure I didn't have any bacteria in my heart. Everything was good. Please give me answers! Im driving myself crazy! :(

Blue lips (circumoral cyanosis) is a symptom of decreased oxygen to the bloodstream. This is often caused by a heart or lung condition. Since you are an IV heroin user the caus is most likely cardiac related.

I've had my heart and lungs tested a few times and everything has been normal for the most part except low white blood cells.

Have you been tested for cardiomegaly? This is common with heroin users.

Your writing is just fine.

Anxiety does not cause blue lips. Lack of oxygen in the bloodstream does.
