Greetings,
I hope I am doing this correctly, if not, please advise.
Just bought a house which is about 6 years old. The water conditioner/softner has not been up and running till the wife and I moved in last November. Since then we have had the "Water Guy" out several times. We have been using 50 lbs. a week and it is only the wife and I living here. Every morning when we first turn on the water it is ral salty. So salty you can stand to get it in your mouth. After letting it run for about 5 minutes, its OK for the day... till the next morning, then it starts all over again.
Could it be the float sticking? At intervals if needing more salt, water is visible the salt hopper.
Any advise is certainly appreciated.

50# per week is way more than you should ever use. No a good idea if you have high blood pressure. You have a mixing valve issue or the exchange resin is depleted. I would bypass the softener until the issue is resolved.
