Project coming along nicely thanks to this board (plumbing and elec.). The builder came by to check on my progress and had genuine compliments!

Now to my question:

I know about the 2'/4' rule for counter receptacles, but at what height are they normally run off the subfloor? Also, the height and type of connection (direct wire or rec.) for a micro/hood.

Last but not least, what is the common way to rough in the connection for a double wall oven and separate in the counter cooktop? Are they direct wire? I was thinking about a rec. box or a metal box for direct connect, romex in and MC coming out through the sheetrock to the unit. Oh and we can't forget the rough in heights above the subfloor!

Thanks all and esp. you TK for your past help!
Mike

The outlets can be of any height, but usually rouged in a 45" AFF. The counter is 36" high, and the upper cabinets can be anywhere fro 16 to 18" above the counter. You can calculate the center of the back splash do the outlets are centered between the counter and upper cabinets.

The micro/hood is specific to each brand of appliance, so you will need to see the specs for the unit you will install.

Usually a 40 or 50 amp circuit cable is run to a junction box below the cooktop, and two smaller cables are spliced with one to the cooktop and one to the oven.

Thanks TK!!

Those junction boxes are usually metal boxes with MC cable coming out to the device, correct?

Yes the whips that usually come with the appliance are usually metal flexible conduit, looks like MC cable.
