It seems unlikely you'll be able to "un-hide" the folders.

Some quick Googling shows this software is freeware, provided "as is", and has some history of not unlocking folders once you've locked them up.

Folder protector : Folder Locker: Hide - Secure (http://www.softpen.com/folder%20locker.htm)
WE SUGGEST TO USE OTHER SHAREWARE/BACKUP PROGRAMS FOR IMPORTANT FILE FOLDERS" OR BACKUP YOUR FOLDERS BEFORE YOU USE Folder Latch

Since this talks about hiding folders and not actually encrypting data, you might try booting the computer from a another device ( a bootable CD or USB drive) and see if the folders are readable that way.

Otherwise I think you're out of luck.

Ok I got interested. I downloaded and installed that program on a PC that's due for reformat.
I took a folder and dropped about 40 files in it [a mix of types]

After that I downloaded a file recovery tool demo. installed and ran same . While running the folder that I had locked appeared. --run completed I click save this folder -- got notice that demo would recover only XX k`s of data
Went my doc`s the folder is sitting there with one file in it

I think there is hope for you my friend. -- Savage

It depends on the software you are using. If you are using FOLDER LOCK and you locked it with a password then it will be difficult to get that folder back without the password. Folder Lock is giving you three options > Lock, Scramble and Encrypt. I am using it and I tried to get the files from it without opening the lock using my Password but in vain. I have gone through their help section and they says it is not possible to open the folder without the password (Patended). If the files are in the lock no hackers or viruses can affect it. It will be better to contact the Software company to help you in this case.
If you are using a registered version of FOLDER LOCK then there is an option for it.
Q39. I have forgotten my password, how can I get my files back?
You can use your Master Key, which is your registration key in the password text field, and click the OK button to access your files. Master Key is available to registered users only. Enabling this allows people who have forgotten their password to use their registration key in place of a password to unlock their files. This option is checked by default in the registered version. You can uncheck it if you feel it would be even safer. However, you should uncheck it only if you have a very good memory. But for oblivious people like me, it is better to keep it checked, because it is the only way you can get your files back if you forget your password.

This option to use the "Master Key" that you say is checked by default in the registered version... where is it checked? I can find no trace of such an option in my Folder Lock Program.
