Trying to figure ridge beam support for full span of 8'1" with a 5/12 pitch and 5-1/4" ridge beam. I want to know support height from top plate to bottom of ridge beam .

For every foot of run you will need 5.5 inch of rise lest the height of ridge board.

Do not know if the span you gave is from plate to ridge or from plate to plate with ridge in middle.
