The plant manager where I work has held this position for three months. He has an aggressive manner which is escalating. While I don't fear physical violence, he berates and belittles employees, (including myself) yelling and using foul language. Except for one recent hire, no one is immune. Is this legal? I do get paid for the time I work, do I have a right to expect a non-hostile work environment? I've been looking for another job for a year and a half to no avail. How do I find out what's legal?

This is not covered by law unless discrimination is involved. It is a matter of company policy. So you and your co-workers need to bring this to HR.
