The steam in my room is way to hot, I have to keep the window in my room opened at all times! Is there a way to remove this radiator and get a smaller one( we have one that is against the whole border of the floor in a different room)

Hi Chav

You certainly can switch the bigger radiator to a smaller radiator, but it will definitely require some piping and fittings/angle valves to be switched over, so not a super easy job, for sure (never mind removing the big radiator).

Before you do that, however, go out and purchase an ADJUSTABLE ANGLE STEAM VENT (and some Teflon tape) and remove the old steam vent and install the new adjustable steam vent (see image). Here, you can use this vent to control how much and how fast air is displaced from the radiator. In other words, you can control how quickly or how slowly the radiator will heat the room. If you want little or no heat, turn the vent setting down to 0...higher for more heat.

That would be what I would try first...lot easier and LIGHTER than removing that big ol' nasty steam radiator!!

PS: Check to see if your existing steam vent is adjustable...if so, turn it way down and see if that helps!
