Hello,
My wife is a canadian citizen, but has residents in USA, she lives on her investments that are taxes in Canada. How do I file my taxes in the U.S? I was told that we can file married separate, but we do not get to file married jointly. Can you help

Whoever told you that you could NOT file jointly does not know what he is talking about.

You CAN and probably SHOULD file jointly. It is easier if your wife already has a SSN, but if not, she can easily apply for and get an ITIN by submitting Form W-7.
