I've read though other posts and haven't seen this problem yet. My ceiling fan started coming on by itself. Sometimes on high speed, other times low. I thought it was just a problem with the fan in one bedroom, but now - the same problem is happening with a fan in a different bedroom. It turns on by itself. I turn it off via remote and later the same day (or maybe the next day), the fan turns on again. Is this an electrical problem, or a fan problem?

I think a similar frequency is turning it on. A neighbor with the same fan. If the builder put the same fan in all the houses in the neighborhood then a stray signal could do it. There are dip switches in the remote and on the fan and you should be able to be change them to change the code to differ from your neighbor. I have the same problem and that is what I am going to try as soon as the weekend comes and I get a tall enough ladder.

I agree with jk, could be almost any remote near your home. Change the receiver and transmiter frequencies. Let us know if you are unsure of how to do this.
