I have a fairly new hampton bay ceiling fan with attached light fixture. The pull chain works fine for the fan but the one for the light stopped working. It seems to be stuck. What steps can I take to fix this?

Most fans have "Light Kits" that are attached to the base of the fan. First shut the power off to the fan, then remove the light kit from the base of the fan and take out the light switch. I suggest taking a picture of the light switch while it is mounted inside the kit first so that you will know how it goes back.

Take the switch to either a hardware store and see if they have a similar switch. If they do not, either a lighting store, electronic supply store or possible even a Radio Shack store may have a comparable switch.
