I live in an older apartment on the bottom floor. Since I've moved in 5 months ago I hear a constant running water sound in my bathroom... and only in the bathroom. This sound goes on 24-7 to the point I have to shut the door to go to sleep. In my second bathroom on an identical floor plan as my room/bath I hear the usual sound of water running when my neighbors use toilet, faucet, shower... etc. but not this constant water running sound. The maintenance person claims it's from my neighbors using water but I find this hard to believe since the sound is 24-7!! They had to turn off the water to the building last week for another emergency and finally the water sound went away. Then when they turned the water back on the sound returned running 24-7. Does anyone have any ideas what might cause this noise? I have requested another visit from the maintenance staff to revisit this issue. I would like to give him some other ideas to look into. Thanks, Kirstie

Someone in another apartment has a defective toilet fill valve.

Depends on some of the utilities. Could be domestic hot water for the building, could be heating water. Circulation pump. We can only guess. Toilet running 24/7 would be easy to find. How many stories and units?

Ma0641,
It is a two story building. One apartment is above me and the wall from bedroom to bath flanks another unit that has a lower and upper apartment. It sounds like a shower running all the time... but I can hear when neighbors turn on and off faucets. Never lived in a place with this type of noise. Does not occur in the other bathroom. Thanks

On city water not a boiler system. I have my own water heater that is not near my bathroom.
