What kind of casual( or noncasual) materials do absorb IR radiation ? More precisely the thoose wavelenghts from the spectrum wich reache the earth -Cool Cosmos (http://coolcosmos.ipac.caltech.edu/cosmic_classroom/ir_tutorial/irwindows.html)

A flat black plate will absorb IR and convert it to heat. That is how air surface solar collectors work. Google "beer can solar collectors". Colored materials will absorb IR and other energies. In older IR spectrophotometers, we used to use colored discs to cancel unwanted wavelengths.
