Let me put it like this, in PA, you don't have to pay tax on clothes and non cooked or unprepared food. I live in a 6% sales tax area but in some counties it is 7%, like Allegheny county, where Pittsburgh is located. There is sales tax at the conveniance stores for stuff, I think they call it a conveniance tax, the same goes for fast food, for the same reason. Already prepared food carries a sales tax here. Non-food grocery items, you have to pay sales tax on. I definitely know that there is sales tax for toys too. I hope that I have proved to be helpful for you.
