My husband and I are thinking of installing a bathtub or shower in our basement bedroom. We have a toilet and sink as well as plumbing for a larger sink on the opposite side of the room. My problem is we don't have floor drains. What would you recommend to solve this issue or is it an issue. I just don't know what is available to solve the floor drain problem and I don't want to dig up the concrete.

Thank you

Hi Eharber

I'm unclear...what does a floor drain have to do with a shower? A floor drain is a floor drain and is not how shower drains get piped up properly. Here, to pipe a shower properly, you need to VENT the shower drain and install a PTRAP and a proper shower floor, etc.

Now, why don't you want to tear up the concrete...actually less work than any other alternative in the long run??

Let me know why you don't want to mess with the concrete and I will share some experience knowledge on the subject, OK?
