My GE condenser fan motor went out on me this morning at 5 am and I'm having a heck of a hard time finding a replacement.

The unit is a Trane XL1000 - yes, I know it's older, but it really works or worked great - and the fan part number is 5KCP39FG R251 S, 1/5 hp, 1075 rpm, 208-230V, 1.6 amps, 3 wire.

Can't find one anywhere and no HVAC company will sell me one without putting it in themselves. I have a very handy husband that can replace this for us as money is tight these days.

Does anyone know if there is a replacement model out there for it? I've seen in a couple of places that a Dayton might be a good replacement, but the specs aren't exactly the same. Our old unit is a 3 wire and the Dayton is a 4 wire.

Thanks for any advice... I really appreciate it!

There is probably an extra capacitor wire for different applications. Look online for local HVAC parts suppliers. Johnson or Ed's come to mind.

Almost certainly the additional wire on the Dayton is for the capacitor. Many 4 wire motors come with instructions for wiring in either a 3 or 4 wire configuration.
