RRB JE (ELECTRICAL)

Transformer transfers ( )

a) voltage b) current c) power d) energy e) voltage and current

Frndz these question was asked in previous RRB paper , please don't think we are funny , so please respond us.. my opinion was voltage and current option e.. which was given in B.L.THERAJA & A.K THERAJA VOL 2 pg.no.1208(first qst only)

The key word in this question is "transfers". Electrical current is not passed through the transformer. A specified voltage and current (amperage), which equals power is applied to the primary coil and creates a magnetic field. The secondary coil which is within that magnetic field, creates an secondary electrical current. Depending on the number of turns in the secondary coil relative to the number of turns in the primary coil, the voltage can be increased and the amperage decreased or the voltage can be decreased and the amperage is increased. In that sense the electrical current is transformed but it does not pass through the transformer.

The thing that passes through or is "transferred" by the transformer is energy.
