Okay well I keep having this same reacurring dream. Okay what happens is I wake and get out of bed. Then it goes blank for a long time and then I wake up again in my bathroom and somebody is hurting me with knife and scissors and I'm trying to play dead but they keep seeing me blink and every time I blink they first cut a deep slit in the side of my neck and then on my shin and then on my wrist and then on my thighs and then I assume I pass out and I wake up in taxi with my mum and nan. I go to a hospital and whilst on the way my mum is on the phone to my dad and he is saying how there was no one there it was just me I was doing it to myself. And then mum realises I hear and says I saw someone and hangs up. Then I get to hospital and this man gives me two small tablets and a glass of water which I assume to be painkillers and they knock me out. I wake up and there's loads of doctors around me and one goes 'Holly what was that persons name that was hurting you etc."? Then eventually he goes 'Holly no, its all in your head that person hurting you is in your head and you are only hurting yourself", and then I wake up in real life.

A dream is a dream. What you read into it is up to you. If this is really disturbing you then you might want to talk to some about it. Maybe your buddy, or even a therapist. If it really isn't bugging you than you might want to just playing around in the dream. Experiment with lucid dreaming and change the ending of it.

You can't die because you die in a dream. It sounds a little disturbing, but I have ad my fair share of those.
