In the early 90's I remember watching this movie. I don't remember it being in black and white, but it could have very well been. In the movie this girl lives with her father. A young boy comes to visit her while her father is away. There is a scene where they show her father standing on a hill with a axe over his shoulder. The father comes home while the boy is visiting with the girl and becomes enraged. I remember the girl trying to hide the boy to keep her father from getting his hands on him. I remember the young boy being played by someone who looks similar to a young Chris Demetral.

Both the male and female has short dark hard. The girl had what looked like a bowl cut. Anytime I have asked about this movie before everyone tells me it is "The girl that lives down the lane". But the female leading role of the film I'm talking about was not Jodie Foster. I also remember a light tower in the film.

I have found the name of the movie is Paperhouse that came out in 1988.
