Has anybody had luck actually truly house training a Chihuahua? My dog is almost 7 and despite my best efforts just seems to love to pee on the floor (bless his little heart). I have done my best to train him. He has a more than ample crate that he goes in when I leave, but when I'm home I have to be on him like a hawk. I live in a nice apartment with a big fenced in yard, often I just leave the door open so he can come and go as he likes. He goes on lots of walks, I literally wake up in the middle of the night to let him out but he still seems to sneak off and pee (always in the same spot). Luckily I have tile floors so he's not damaging anything but it's pretty darned annoying to be cleaning up pee all the time. I can't keep him outside, he throw a fit. I let him sleep in a little doggie nest next to my bed and keep the door shut but it seems like if I ever fail to take my eyes off him I've got a nice pee to clean up. I love my little buddy and will continue to cope with being his maid until the day he passes on but it'd be so nice to not have to constantly clean up after him. Last night I took him on a walk around 10 pm, came home went to bed, woke up at 2 am, let him out and forgot to shut my bedroom door. At 6 am this morning I nearly cracked my head slipping on urine going to his food and water dishes to refill them. Very frustrating :/
