View Full Version : How can I teach my 3 year old to talk?

My son is turning 3 in march he's not talking but a few words and then its like his own launguge he still isn't potty trained not from the lack of trying have been trying with him.He has had 2 hearing tests done and they say he is fine.noone wants to help me on his talking they say he will talk when he is ready.they say he may be otistic.I am worried this may be because I was 40 when I had him.he has 3 older siblings so I know he hears them talk is this normal

Talk with the pediatrician about being referred to a social worker who will find help for you or at least allay your fears..
By the way, both of my sons were just a bit over three when they finally figured out potty time. It took them a week each and no accidents. This is a readiness thing. Is he at all interested?
Sometimes autism and talking problems go hand in hand, but not sure about the potty training. He may be developmentally delayed and just needs time to catch up.
