My water was not working when I came home from work.discovered that they pipes were apparently froze in crawl space .I put a heater down there & after a while the water was flowing.but then something broke in crawl .I shut off the water at the meter and the leak in crawl stopped.now in order for them not freeze up again before I can get a plumber to come tomorrow should I turn meter back on partially& open faucet & just let it go?

Hi shawn and welcome, there should be no danger in the pipes re-freezing, all the water should just drain out the break. To prevent re-freezing after the plumber makes the repair, block all air leaks to the crawl space and consider installing heat wrap on the pipes. Good luck

It should depend upon how bad the leak is as to whether you shut it off at the meter or not.
If it is a small drip I would leave the water on as water will not freeze when there is a flow.
Part-time gave you great advice about heat wraps. Let us know how you make out. Good luck, Tom
