I am now seven weeks pregnant as per my LMP which was on 22nd Oct'13. I took a HPT on 24th Nov and it showed a faint positive line. I repeated the test again on 1st Dec and it showed a strong positive line. But from 6th Dec I started spotting and then it turned to heavy bleeding. I don't have any cramps/back pain. I consulted a doctor on 11th Dec. She did an internal ultrasound and saw an empty sac. She mentioned some people get bleeding during their pregnancy and there's nothing to worry. Is it normal? This is my first pregnancy and I am already 29yrs old. I am really scared. Please help.

There can be period bleeding through out the pregnancy. Usually not terribly heavy but there none the less. I would trust your doctor at this point. Do a ultra sound later will show growth of the embryo.
