Hi I'd like some advice please.

I have naturally dark blonde hair and decided to use a box colour dye called Colour XXL Ice Blonde.

I followed the instructions but I ended up with white roots and orange everywhere else, and I mean "ORANGE" lol. The bleach in the dye really made my scalp sore.

I went to Sally's and they gave me an ash toner and bleach. Used it and while the orange has gone it still looks awful and yellow.

I'd like to just go back to my natural dark blonde/brown but I'm getting conflicting advice and don't know what to do. Can someone please tell me the best course of action once and for all!? I will go to a salon if necessary but I'd prefer to do it myself if possible.

So you already tried doing it on your own,right,and no offense but it failed... so to prevent it from happening again, get your hair turned back to it's natural color, and do it at a salon. :)

Okay, it is a bit bright. It should tone down a bit after frequent washing, but sadly with bleach it's very hard to cover it up on your own, and get the results you want. I really would go to a salon for this. I don't think you'll get great advice online.
