When comes on it runs for approx. 15 sec blowing warm air then off for approx 20sec continues this until thermostat is satisfied. Replaced thermostat with digital no difference from old mercury unit. What can I check next?

This was a fairly common problem with Coleman manufactured home furnaces several years ago. The fan switches had to be replaced.
