A judgement was filed in court against me by an apartment complex that my ex husband and I resided in in 2007. I left him four months before he vacated the apartment leaving behind ALL our children's belongings. The judgement has showed up on my credit report as an eviction. I called to try to pay this off and the complex keeps telling me that they do not have a file showing I lived there due to new management. I asked for the number to a supervisor or corporate office and they will not provide any information. If I was to get a lawyer would I be able to get this removed possibly due to non proof on their part? And what kind of lawyer would handle this type of case?

Judgements aren't filed... judgements are awarded after a court case is held.

Its important to differentiate between them.

I'm assuming the court case already has come and gone and the judgement was made because of a no-show by your ex-husband after he was served, or was lost by him. Your name was on the lease which held you eaqually liable.

If you can further clarify these points it will help with our advice..and if the court case is upcoming...or has already happened?
