I've liked this boy for about a year now. We're good friends and sit at the same lunch and I have a class with him. We talk often but it's usually a question about class or the walking dead. How do I get him to like me even though I'm a lot shorter, shy, and of a differ race (he is white and I am half Colombian)

You can't get someone to like you.
He knows you and he either likes you or he doesn't.

Bottom line, you can't make someone like you, they either do or they don't. You can get to know someone better, talk to them, share your interests, listen to theirs, but you can't make someone like you. I'm assuming that you want him to like you as more than a friend, and it really sounds like friendship is what the two of you have.

Just get to know him, talk to him, but stop trying to be something you think he'll like, just be yourself. He either likes you for you, or he doesn't.
