My periods were regular until I was scheduled to meet my bboyfriend. I took a pill for dealing my periods and it delayed my periods. My periods were due on 6th October but because of the pill it came on 13th of October. But it lasted for one and a half day only. Now it has been 50 days that I didn't get my periods and recently I checked for pregnancy and showed 3-4 weeks pregnant. How is it possible to be only 3-4 weeks pregnant after I didn't had periods for 50 days. I had checked for pregnancy a week before, it showed negative but this week's as per the hcg count,I am 3-4 weeks pregnant. Would you be able to explain me this. Please note that I did not had sex between 21st October to 6th November. I have shown 3-4 weeks pregnant on 02 December. I am so confused. Please explain.

Those things are approximate and shouldn't be taken as an accurate estimation of when you because pregnant but more of a yes or no. The basic test searches for a specific hormone and the indicator used will change colours if it is present. If you let the urine sit too long then the control can leak into the test area making it seem like a positive. The more complicated ones, like you used, will try to quantify the amount of the hormone. The problem is that it will vary and dependent on when you took the test you can get an over or under estimation.
So what happened? You delayed your period until the 13th and it was done by the 15-16th. You had sex. You ovulated. You got pregnant. They'd probably date the pregnancy to the 13th, putting you at about two months, or they will measure and date it until a little later.
The take home message is that you can't trust the date range on those things. That and you're pregnant! Congratulations!
