Greetings,

I am a software engineer working in a H1b visa. One month back I passed the real estate license exam. My broker is saying he will issue a 1099 for any sale I do.

My questions:
Does H1B visa law permit people to file 1099 along with W2?
What are the other open options I have to practice real estate?
Can I start my own real estate company(LLC) and become the business development manager.. Will this allow me to get 1099 without legal problem?

Thanks in Advance for your valuable inputs, suggestions

Regards.

You are, In my opinion, violating the provisions of your H-1B visa.

Working as a real estate agent is working outside the scope of your visa, and that is against the law.
