Does anyone have any idea how we can increase the water pressure in our house? We have lived here for about a year (first time home buyers) and we are not very good at this kind of stuff. It takes me a looong time to rinse out my hair because the pressure is so low. Any advice would be helpful. Thank you! :)

We need to know more about your home. Are you on city water or well water. About how old are your puipes and are they greyish colored or like an old penny.

City Water-Old Penny

You have city water with copper piping. Call the water department and ask what the PSI, (Pressure) is at the main before it enters your house. Then get back to us and let us know. Regards, Tom

Do you have city or well water?

Are there filters going into your house? If so remove the cartridges or by pass them to see if they are plugged. What's the position of the shut off vakve in the house?

PS - if on city water, what are the neighbours saying? Is it normal?

55 PSI is plenty pressure for the main. You're going to hafta solve this problem by the process of elimination starting with the service line. Somewhere along the way checking fixture by fixture you will run into a pressure drop and you will have found your problem. Have you shut down all the fixtures in your home and went out and checked the little pointer in the meter for meter creep? Good luck, Tom
