Hello,

I poked my eye yesterday with a mascara wand (one of those that have some plastic "spikes"). This happened to me before, some time ago,but it didn't do anything those times, because I didn't poke really hard.

However, this time my eye even started crying and I had to keep it close for a few seconds before I could open it.
Today I think it is worse, because I always feel a tiny irritation in the eye; and it's very sensitive.

I already put physiological saline on my eye.

Did this happen to any of you people before? If so, did it get better fast? Did you put something specific on it, to help it heal?

Not even 24 hours have passed after I poked my eye, but I'd really like to know if I should buy something specific to put on it.

I don't think I should go to the hospital because my eye is not that bad; it's just irritated and sensitive, and sometimes starts tearing. But yesterday, a few hours after this happened, it wasn't so sensible, that is why I am asking this question.

Thank you for reading :-)

Yes, I have done that before but not as bad as that. You could have scratched the cornea, and as far as eye injuries are concerned, no, nothing you can do treat yourself. You will have to have it checked out by an an eye specialist to make sure there is no long term damage.

Thank you tickle, I'll consider visiting a specialist if it doesn't get better by tomorrow. :(
