I have a 2004 Monte Carlo v6 3.4l it was working perfectly when I parked it. Then the next time I went to start it , it started but when I put it in reverse to back up it wouldn't move .so I tried drive. None of the gears were working.it just sat there as if it was in neutral. When its in park it don't move. But you put it in gear and you can push the car like its in neutral. What could be wrong?

I am currently in Texas and am trying to get back to Arkansas. Well my car is being stupid and won't go into gear. It starts.just when you move the automatic shifter to drive or reverse or neautral it won't move.

. Check for codes.

. Check all under hood and under dash fuses with a test light or multimeter.

. Check the linkage going to the transmission.

. Check, replace, or adjust the Transmission Range Sensor on the transmission, if it has one.

How is the transmission fluid? Is it full?
