Trying to remember the name of this anime movie series that I watched 10 years ago. It was a 4 or 5 disc set with chapters of differing lengths that I got from Netflix - in total about 5-7 hours. I can't remember much but it was about 3 or 4 characters (strangers) - a guy in the military who starts at a camp in the desert, a women from the pacific islands who starts on the island with her family, a computer guy who lives in a big city. Each chapter followed their travels as they converged on each other in the big city. There is a bad guy type thing in the movie that is represented only by a computer or computer screen. They all eventually meet up and the girl from the pacific islands was the key to whatever it was they were doing. She gets caputured by the computer somehow and gets hooked up to it. I remember her specifically hung up (like crucified) with cables coming out of her before she is saved by the others.

I think the style is anime. There is little or no movement in the animation but there is speaking and/or narration.

I realize this is super vague but please help!
