I am 17 years old, yes I know, and I was on the birth control shot for 2 years while me and my boyfriend who have been together for almost 3 years were sexually active. I moved to Florida recently, within the last couple months, and I stopped taking it because I wasn't going to be sexually active while I wasn't with my boyfriend. (My shot was suppose to be taken between September 30th - October 15th). Well My boyfriend came over the weekend of October 25th and we had unprotected sex, which I regretfully admit that we have been having sex for the past 2 years without him using a condom and me just on my shot and I didn't get pregnant once. Well, we did have unprotected sex on October 25th and about 4 days ago I have been feeling funny and it's just been getting worse, I am having these symptoms:

Fatigue
Heightened sense of smell
abdominal cramps
odd taste in foods that I once loved
white milky discharge
headaches
sore breasts

I am aware that some of these symptoms happen usually later on in pregnancy but I have this odd sense that I am pregnant. I keep trying to convince myself that it may be my period coming back since I haven't had it since I've been on the shot but my brain keeps saying "shut up and face the truth". Could you please help me?

As you wisely guessed... none of those can be relied upon... and knowing when its late enough to test is going to be difficult because you don't have your period back yet to know when you are late...


So unfortunately you are probibly going to have to wait a while longer and hope it does come.

As a baseline... I'd wait for 4 to 6 weeks after you last had sex... (only because that's an average length of a period and an extra two weeks to be late) because testing too soon will usually give you a negative you can't rely on.
