It's a movie about a TV show taking place in the 50ies or 60ies, when television still was happening live.
In the first part of the movie we see a run down of the rehearsal of the whole show and how everything should go down. The second part of the movie is the live show where actually everything that worked in rehearsal fails miserably. it's hilarious!
The movie was probably shot during the 90ies and is in color.
I can't remember any actors, nor what the name of the movie was, I just remember that I almost wet myself from laughing.
I'd love to see it again and so far nobody else knows it.
Appreciate your help.

Noises Off (1992)
Starring Michael Caine, Christopher Reeve, Carol Burnett, John Ritter
IMDb synopsis:
Lloyd Fellowes is the director of a theatrical company. He's desperately trying to get his production together, despite the best efforts of the cast, the crew, and Lady Luck. We follow the production from final rehearsals through opening night and onto the tour. As with any group of actors forced to work closely together for any great length of time, romances and arguments are bound to break out. Quite often, what's happening on stage is nothing compared to what's happening backstage.

I'm not sure why I didn't think to leave a link to the movie trailer on YouTube!

It's 'My Favorite Year'.
I've seen "My Favorite Year" dozens of times. It vaguely matches the description, but I still hold with my vote of "Noises Off..." especially because there seems to be a trend lately to ask about this one. It might be more than one person asking, or it might be the questioner visiting other sites for an answer.
I'll be interested to see which is the movie. Both are good movies though I like "MFY" more because of Peter O'Toole.
"Noises Off..." focuses entirely on the rehearsal/performance, unlike "MFY".

Wasn't trying to be a jerk, it's just that Noises Off has absolutely nothing to do with a live TV broadcast being done live. It's about a stage play.

People don't always recall exact details. We offered two very good choices, covering two strong possibilities.
I'm very curious as to what movie this is. Who knows? It might be something entirely different=}
