Hello, I am 31 years old and I have been married for 7 months. My period is late but I just saw some spotting today. My period is usually very heavy and last about 5 to 7 days and come on each month. I have taken several over the counter pregnancy tests and they have all been negative. I normally sleep on my stomach, but for the past 3 days, it has been uncomfortable sleeping on my stomach (just having a weird feeling/doesn't feel good). So I've been sleeping on my back or side. I am overweight (5'4 and weigh 260 lbs). I have read articles that it is difficult for overweight women to get pregnant. So I joined a gym and exercise regularly. I also have changed my diet to eat more healthier meals and eliminate junk food and fast food. I am also taking a prenatal vitamin. Last month, I went to my doctor and he gave me a urine pregnancy test that also came out negative. He just told me to be patient and to continue going to the gym and to continue with the prenatal vitamins. Do you have any suggestions for me on what I need to do to get pregnant? Any suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks

Have sex. All the time. My wife was about your size and we didn't have any troubles getting pregnant.

How late is your period? Most over the counter tests aren't really reliable until two weeks after your missed period. IT is a horrible waiting game I know.

As well most pregnancy symptoms usually come a month or two into the pregnancy. It isn't an instant "I concieved! Damn my t1ts are sore!" That comes later. The surest sign of early pregnancy is a missed period. The rest is either coincidence or possibly a unrelated illness.

Good luck! Remember the sex. Lots of it.
