We had turned off the main water supply in the house to fix a faucet in the laundry room. Later when we turned on the kitchen tap (which was installed about a month ago), there was a sort of screech noise & very low pressure. The noise only lasted a moment, but the pressure has not come back. Any suggestions?

First, remove the aerator at the end of the spout... probably got clogged up with sediment when you turned the water main back on. Clean the screens and reinstall the aerator... while the aerator is out, run water and see if you have good flow. If you have good flow, just clean and reinstall the aerator.

If that doesn't work then post a picture as requested by Hkstroud.
