Before my boyfriend and I have had sex, it would hurt him when he would get hard on his own. He went to the doctors and they said he had low blood circulation down there, so he went on meds for a month and said it was fine After his prescription. A few weeks later we tried having sex and it didn't hurt him but he couldn't stay hard right before penetration. I asked if it was me and he assured me no but I'm still paranoid it is me and I don't know how to help him. He smokes weed and drinks weekly so I don't know if he should cut down on that? Help I'm embarrassed!

He should stop both of them, did he tell doctor about them, since they often interfere with the medication.

Has he discussed with doctor, the fact he can not stay hard. Many medical reasons for it.

You already know there is a issue, the pressure of trying to try, can make it worst.
Also you did not say his age, it is or could be different issues at 60 than at 20

He's 20 exactly! That's what I thought too I told him whenever he thought he was good to let me know, I mean obviously we like each other so you don't think it's me? He was already having problems before we even tried so I just don't know what to do

Not wanting to sound rude, but most 20 year olds, don't even have to like the person, and just talking about sex or thinking about it, is all it takes to get hard. So it really should be something medical. ( I am also assuming, you had sex with him before, and there was no trouble) and this is some new problem

Not all men are the same. I'm 21 and can't get it up if I don't feel anything emotional for a girl. It could be a combination of that problem and thinks like stress or pressure. If I really concentrate and try to get hard for my girl, I usually fail. Try to get him to relax, surprise him. Don't wait until he is ready, catch him off guard, him not thinking might just help

You might want to find out more about "cock rings" (sorry if it sounded a bit rude). When he does have an erection, if he puts this ring on, it will slow down the outflow of blood from the penis, and therefore keep him hard longer (that is considering that he does (did) have a problem with low blood flow)

Other than that, alcohol and smoking does have an effect on sexual prowess. And with the fact that he had a problem from the start with low blood flow, it may make things even worse. So yes, it is a good idea to cut back on those things and go see a doctor.
